Until recently Palekh was known worldwide. Today it is rare for a Russian resident to even remember the region where Palekh is located. How is this possible? Is it possible that a city with the largest number of artists per square meter has fallen into oblivion? But first of all, is it really a city? The heroes of the film are two residents of Palekh who talk about their conception of the deep Russian province and the creative atmosphere that still reigns in Palekh.
