The protagonist of the film is Viktor Bershadsky, a Russian director who emigrated to the United States. Fate and career did not work out for him either in Russia or abroad. He used to be famous, but now no one remembers him, he has not directed films for 10 years and most likely will never receive a production order again.
But fate smiles on him too, though only for one day. In New York, patrons at the Hilton Hotel arranged a charity evening dedicated to emigrants from Russia. Victor Bershadsky becomes the star of this evening, in a chic tuxedo he is in the spotlight. But all this is only for one evening, in the morning this fairy tale will end.
