Ekaterinburg 90s. A group of young poets, including the most talented one - junior researcher at the Institute of Geophysics Boris Ryzhiy (writer and musician Evgeniy Alekhin) wanders along the cold and dangerous streets of the city from party to party. Ironic and friendly, he can just as easily come to an agreement with the local gangsters, drive to Moscow for the Anti-Booker prize, fight at a kiosk and rush to the police station.
“Boris Ryzhiy has a line “You don’t need anything, not even happiness” - something that he wanted so much, but couldn’t wait for. About ten years ago I took a book of his poems from the shelf, opened it and realized that I had to tell about him. More powerful I don’t know the poet of the era that I found - the outcome of the 90s."
