A mature woman with the exotic name Era in honor of the radio (Marianne Schultz) arrives with her teenage son Andrei (Gennady Blinov) to the house of her late mother on the Black Sea coast. The son does not speak, does not leave his wheelchair and spends his days watching cartoons, while the cheerful Era is trying to find a job and somehow improve her personal life. But her son perceives her search for a gentleman with silent condemnation, especially after his thrifty and handy uncle Tolya (Fedor Lavrov) turned out to be not so positive.
It seems to me very important to show this motley world of people left to themselves, with a heightened instinct of self-preservation, capable of rising again and again after a fall and starting all over again each time.
