Leningrad, 1983. Slava, Anton and Denis hang out at rock apartments, catch the waves of Western radio stations, sell rare vinyl and dream of a trip to the homeland of the beloved Beatles. The romantic Slava meets a beautiful stranger on the roof, but she eludes him, the botanist Anton secretly sighs for the hostess of the coolest parties in the city, and the major Denis has a passionate romance, but he does not believe in his future with his beloved. Strong male friendship shows a big crack when Denis’s father decides to marry him for convenience with the professor’s daughter.
