Plot synopsis

The film “118 seconds, before... and after” is based on the biography of one of the most outstanding athletes in the world and the pride of Russian sports - Svetlana Masterkova, two-time Olympic champion and world champion. The film tells about the athlete’s childhood in her hometown of Achinsk, about how her sports career developed in the difficult 90s, about the path that former Soviet and now Russian sports had to go through after the collapse of the Soviet system. About how, thanks to her own will and desire to raise the sporting prestige of her homeland, the famous runner, after the birth of her child and emigration, returned to training and set 2 world records, making the biggest dream of her youth come true.
