The action takes place in France and Germany in 1944. A Soviet intelligence officer, acting under the name of the French businessman Auguste Ptizhan, “surrenders” to the Gestapo, who mistake him for an English spy. Thus, he gets the opportunity to establish direct contacts with high-ranking employees of the Gestapo and Abwehr, who understand the inevitability of the defeat of Hitler’s army, who are trying to establish contacts with the intelligence services of the countries that are part of the anti-Hitler coalition.
