Lonely fishermen on the Gulf of Finland, without realizing it, become elements of primitive painting, building patterns of rock scenes. And the canvas is an endless ice plateau. Under their feet, in the murky broth of dark northern waters, prehistoric sea creatures have been swarming for 300 million years. The ancient trade is alive, and with it the memory of times so ancient and distant.
This film is an observation of the fragments of a primitive culture. The fragments form a myth about a “tribe” that dissolves in a snowstorm brought by the northern winds.
