The heroines of the film are women from a southern Russian family: two sisters, their mother and grandmother. In the summer, the younger ones come to visit the older ones, but in reality they return to their roots and surrender to the traditional way of life. The world of this house is deeply matriarchal. Men are present in it, but in secondary roles. The space of the film is filled with magical actions: women tell fortunes, collect herbs in the meadow, wash in the bathhouse. The sacred here is the other side of the ordinary. Daughters repeat the life scenario of their mother, who once also followed the elder women of the clan.
