Plot synopsis
The second episode of the documentary series "Historical Chronicles" with Nikolai Svanidze is dedicated to 1902 and the fate of the remarkable Russian industrialist and philanthropist Savva Morozov. He was one of the founders of the Moscow Art Theatre, and the famous theatre building in Kamergersky was built with his money.
The film tries to answer the question: why did educated and wealthy people of Russia go to the revolution, who not only laid the foundations of its industrial prosperity, but also did a lot for its brilliant cultural development?
Savva Morozov died under strange circumstances. Historians are still wondering whether it was suicide or whether he was helped to leave this life... Who? Who benefited from this?
