The film is based on a journalistic investigation that takes place in our days. In the Parisian suburb of Sainte-Genevieve des Bois, in the Russian House, an old man is living out his last days, who has the diary of his grandmother, Fanny Kaplan.
From this diary, the Kiev journalist Marina learns the poignant story of Fanny Kaplan's "blind" love for a man named Viktor Garsky. Garsky used Fanny Kaplan, who was in love with him, in his political games. Even before the revolution, she served a ten-year hard labor sentence for him, where she went blind and seriously undermined her health. In 1917, the half-blind Kaplan is released from prison. She begins an affair with the doctor Dmitry Ulyanov. And a year later, she is accused of attempting to assassinate the doctor's brother, Vladimir Lenin...
