At the center of this social absurdist comedy, filmed like a play, are beautiful and courageous women. They meet men and introduce them to their way of life. The men like where they've ended up, and they become part of the unique world of their chosen ones. "Freedom" is a leftist pamphlet on the immodest charm of the bourgeoisie, made with a love of ironic objects and the excessively free fluttering of humanity. This is an auteur film, if only because the author himself periodically appears on screen throughout the story, narrating it to the viewer.
