Medical scientists Alexander Gireev and Vladimir Shulgin have invented a drug capable of curing any illness, even cancer.
But the drug that could save the world becomes a bone of contention for the whole family. Gireev’s eldest son, Evgeny, decides to help his father promote it. His daughter Polina is convinced that her brother is only after fame and money, and that he is prepared to betray his father. Gireev himself, however, is unwilling to make the compromises demanded of him by the big pharma market. After all, producing medicines is a lucrative business. And why produce something that will cure people when you can make more money whilst they remain ill?
