Paris, 1930s. Unrest reigns among the Russian émigré community: some are gathering strength to overthrow the Bolsheviks, while others are actively but illegally working for the Soviet government. The plot centers on the love between Vera, the daughter of former State Duma member and Octobrist leader A.I. Guchkov, and Soviet agent Alexander Bolevich, a love they carry throughout their lives

Episode 1
Vera Guchkova meets Alexander Bolevich. A relationship blossoms between them. Alexander arranges a date with Vera at a waterfall. Arriving there, Vera is horrified to discover a dead man on a bench and flees in panic, accidentally encountering Alexander along the way. When they return, the body is gone.
Episode 2
Suspicion mounts around Vera and Alexander. It is revealed that Bolevich has ties to the Soviet secret services. Vera tries to understand what is happening, but becomes increasingly entangled in a web of lies and intrigue. Sergei Efron, a friend of Bolevich's, also turns out to be an OGPU agent and begins to feel remorse for his role in the operations.
Episode 3
Efron is indirectly involved in the murder of a man who possessed incriminating information on Soviet agents. He decides to "quit the game" and turns to Vera for help. Having learned the truth about Alexander, she faces a choice: turn away from her beloved or accept his new reality.
Episode 4
Vera agrees to work for the OGPU. The agents disguise their activities as film shoots. Vera and Alexander's relationship becomes complicated: she tries to preserve her love, but she cannot ignore her moral dilemmas. Efron tries to distance himself from the intelligence services, which puts him in danger.
Episode 5
The conflict escalates: the intelligence services demand new assignments from Vera and Alexander. Efron faces the threat of exposure—his past could become known to émigré circles. Vera tries to help him, risking her own safety.
Episode 6
The situation reaches a critical point: the agents must carry out a particularly dangerous mission. Vera and Alexander are faced with a final choice: stay together at the cost of betraying their principles, or break off their relationship. Efron makes a decision that puts everyone involved in this story at risk.
