Tynu, a poor peasant, longs to get rich and provide for his family. He gives his young wife, Marie, to an aging baron in exchange for a lucrative position as a milkman. Tynu achieves success and wealth, becoming one of the richest men in the village. However, money does not bring him happiness, and his family falls apart. In the end, Tynu’s life comes to a tragic end.
