Tanya, 35, is a successful modern woman living in St. Petersburg. In the evenings, she attends acting classes, where she is assigned to prepare a monologue based on the wartime diary of a woman who also happens to be named Tanya. The present-day Tanya begins to imagine herself in the shoes of the Tanya from the past. The two realities gradually intertwine.
