Plot synopsis

On Nikolai Dekabryukhov's wedding day, cannon fire rings out, announcing the start of the October Revolution. Abandoning his wife, Dekabryukhov flees abroad. In a Parisian café, he recounts his exploits and becomes the hero of the day. Meanwhile, his brother, who remained in Soviet Russia, marries Nikolai's wife...
