Plot synopsis
In September 1999, when bombs exploded in apartment buildings in several Russian cities, some 300 people lost their lives. The Russian authorities immediately blamed the Chechens. Posters showed that the start of the second Chechen war was the cause of these attacks. Promising to annihilate the terrorists, Vladimir Putin had himself elected President. However, from the beginning, another hypothesis circulated, that of the responsibility of the Russian secret services (FSB) who had these posters made, a few months before the election of the President, to stir up a climate of fear leading to voting for Putin. The film sets out to find the truth of the events.
