On the occasion of the celebration, in 1980, of the six hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo, by the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, a painter, Yuri Rakcha, passionately undertook a monumental triptych which he would complete while fighting against the death to which a serious illness condemned him.
