Plot synopsis
The life of two little girls, Nastia and Katia, in the blockade of Leningrad. The cold, the famine, the crossings of the city to fetch water from the Neva, the death of the mother, an injury: the children have endured all the torments of the war, alongside the adults. Despite the war and the blockade, Nastya and Katya always return to their children's world with dolls and children's songs. The film was partly shot in blockaded Leningrad.
