Sania, a teenager, lives with his sister in a small mining town in northern Russia. Sania's father, a former miner, has emigrated to America where he plans to become a boxer. Professional boxer Kostya King's business is going badly. In the meantime, Sania is learning English and dreams that his father will take him with him. But to do this, Kostya King must defeat a top opponent in the ring. Will father and son ever be able to be together?
