Plot synopsis

The film was created on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Russian presence on Mount Athos.
In the fall of 1894, the governor of St. Petersburg, Viktor von Whal, initiated a sensational legal procedure against a wealthy gold miner, accusing him of insanity and complicity with the revolutionaries. He demanded that his property be confiscated and that he be placed under guardianship. A few years later, Innokenty Sibiriakov would be recognized as a saint by the monks of Mount Athos.
