A group of Estonian emigrant spy saboteurs is sent from Sweden to Soviet Estonia. They manage to disperse according to their appearances. The leader of the group, Vari (Heino Mandri), manages to settle down with a friend of his daughter Hilda, where he poses as a major engineer who arrived from the Urals. Vary meets Ernst (Rein Aren), Hilda's fiancé. The spy recruits Ernst for sabotage work. Walter (Jüri Järvet) comes to the farm with his brother Andres. Spy Fredy moves in with Forester Reps (Hugo Laur). But the saboteurs do not find the necessary support from the population
