Plot synopsis
One of the unknown and dramatic episodes of the Russian history of the World War II is the evacuation of the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg. The echelon with paintings of Repin, Levitan, Serov and Shishkin, icons of Rublev and other priceless masterpieces of Russian art went from Leningrad to Gorky in August 1941. There the treasures were moved to an old barge which went further deep into Russia. Perm (or Molotov as it was known at that time) and Solikamsk became the destination points of this crusade. The film tells us how the participants of these events lived and worked after the war and why they want to erase those hard times from their memories.
