Plot synopsis

To kill the Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Army, Joseph Stalin - this is the task Hitler sets for the Army of the Third Reich. Preparations for an operation called "Chinese Box" begin.
Killer agents are trained for the task in a special sabotage school. Here, Soviet captured soldiers are used as living material for training German intelligence agents. Only one of the contenders for a special role in history survives the training. It turns out to be a fugitive Russian soldier Pyotr Tavrin. Meanwhile, the Soviet counterintelligence "Smersh" becomes aware of Hitler's plan. A special group of the best intelligence officers is being created, who must prevent the name "Chinese box" from going down in history. Behind each of the officers of the group is a human destiny and their own experience of the war.
Gradually, the entire spy network is revealed. But the more revelations, the more mysteries and the closer the killer is moving towards Moscow. But, following the trail, having identified the chain of agents on the way to Moscow, the counterintelligence team still cannot get ahead of the killer agent.
The enemy sometimes appears in the most unexpected form. Counterintelligence officers understand that the reason for the inability to get ahead of the killer is the introduction of a German agent into their team. So under suspicion of treason are all members of the group ...
