Plot synopsis

Three episodes - 39 minutes each. The first film, “It would be better if you became a priest,” tells about the childhood of Joseph Dzhugashvili, the fate of his father and mother, as well as his studies at the theological school and Tbilisi Seminary. The second picture - “Take care of the shackles” - is about Dzhugashvili’s work in Baku, about his first wedding, as well as about numerous exiles and escapes from them. In the third film - “Beware, Party” - the authors examine various signs of Dzhugashvili’s collaboration with the police and find out whether there is documentary evidence for this. The film ends with Joseph's return to revolutionary Petrograd in 1917.
