"Little Night Serenades" is an innovative project by director and poet Svetlana Astretsova and AI specialist and musician Liya Uvarova. This is the world's first musical, animated fantasy, created entirely with the help of neural networks, which revived the aesthetics of the works of artists from the turn of the 19th - early 20th centuries. To create a visual series, the neural network was trained for almost two years on the best examples of graphics and painting.
The almanac includes four musical and poetic fantasies-parables, 4 unique "serenades": "Serenade to Art: Blood of a Poet", "Serenade to Success: A Star is Born", "Serenade to Death: One Stolen Tear", "Serenade to Love: Escape of a Princess".
Each part of the cartoon is made in the style of a certain modernist artist, and each of the artists corresponds to a certain poet, thus the visual series and the text form exquisite and bizarre rhymes-parallels.
The style of Leon Bakst's paintings rhymes with the poetry of Nikolai Gumilev, the "poetry" of Igor Severyanin is close to the style of Alexander Benois, the painting of Konstantin Somov corresponds to the lines of Afanasy Fet, and the graphics of Aubrey Beardsley enters into a dialogue with the sonnet of Jean Cocteau.
