1942, World War II. Moscow actress Tatyana Petrovna and her daughter are evacuated to a provincial town and settle in the house of an old man, Potapov, who soon dies. The house becomes a center of memory and comfort – the old cat, Arkhip, and the piano remain there. Potapov's son returns from the front, hoping to see his father. The house seems to preserve the lives and stories of its inhabitants against the backdrop of the harsh war years. A story of hope and love in difficult times... based on K.G. Paustovsky's short story "Snow."
