This short film is Andrei Konchalovsky's graduation film. A young boy dreams of a pigeon, draws it on the wall, spends hours watching birds in the sky. But at the market, they ask 100 rubles for a pigeon! The boy exchanges his father's stamp album for the bird of his dreams, and a great moment of happiness occurs: from a rooftop, the boy lets his pigeon fly away to the clouds. But the pigeon does not know that it has a new owner and returns to its dovecote. The boy runs across the city to follow it, but the rule is inflexible: if he wants the pigeon, he must pay for it again
