In 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of Directing Mass Theatrical Performances of the Institute of Culture.
On TV - since 1979: administrator of the main editorial office of programs for Moscow and the Moscow region.
In 1979-1984. attended seminars of the poet Evgeniy Vinokurov at the literary institute.
From 1980 to 1988 – Administrator of the Main Editorial Office of Literary and Dramatic Broadcasting. During this time, he shot several original directorial works.
In 1987 he took part in the filming of the film "Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy. The Last Days".
From 1982 to 1988 – assistant director of the “Poetry Evenings” program.
From 1988 to 1990 – director of the program “Vzglyad” (28 broadcasts).
In 1990 – director of the NTV program “NamedniNamedni”.
In 1992 – director of the program “Portrait against a Background”.
In 1993, together with colleagues and friends in Nizhnevartovsk, he created the Sfera television company.
He returned to Moscow in 1996 and for some time made films commissioned by foreign television companies.
In the same 1996, at the suggestion of K. Ernst, he took part in the creation of the program “19:59” on ORT.
Then, together with O. Aksenov, they created the “Duty Unit” program.
