The film uses materials from N.Berdyaev's book ‘The Russian Idea’, excerpts from films by S.Eisenstein, A.Dovzhenko, D.Vertov, A.Rohm, B.Barnet, S.Yutkevich, A.Tarkovsky and others; music by S.Prokofiev, D.Shostakovich, V.Ovchinnikov, I.Dunayevsky.
One of the films in the series created under the auspices of the British Film Institute for the 100th anniversary of cinema.
