The screenplay is based on documents from the Odessa Revolution History Commission. The counterintelligence officer of Denikin's army, Enger, a detestable individual with the appearance of a drug addict in decline, gravitates in the circle of the White Guards and does not arouse any suspicion as to his counter-revolutionary sentiments. When Enger finds himself in prison, from where the Bolsheviks free him, it becomes clear that he is the famous secret agent of the Reds "7+2" to whom this film is dedicated.
