The fighter plane pilot Nikolai Mourariev endures a personal drama: his wife and his son, tired of living on the polar circle, returned to the continent -. Colonel Bieliï, who thought that the pilot's wife would return to living with her husband if he was used again on the continent, sends Nikolai on a mission.
In the second part of the film, Mourariev meets Evgueni Cheliest, of the same promotion as him. The two friends will have to fly together.
