Film adaptation of the eponymous novel by A.S. Pushkin. The young barin Vladimir Dubrovsky arrives at the estate of his father, who has long been in dispute with his neighbor, the despotic squire Troyekurov. This quarrel ends in the complete ruin and then death of his father. Dubrovsky, who at the same time had just fallen in love with Mashenka Troyekurov, decides to take revenge.
