"Scenes from Bohemian Life" is the director's ninth film in which he uses for the first time as a theme a classical subject known more to opera lovers than to literature lovers. Puccini's famous "Bohème" based on the novel by Henry Murger. Konstantin Selivestrov transposes the action of his film from 19th century Paris to 21st century St. Petersburg while keeping the French names of the heroes.
