The plague is the most terrible disease known to mankind. Numerous descriptions by historians, painters and poets testify to these abominable epidemics that invaded entire countries and continents and to the fight against this scourge during the Middle Ages. The 20th century is famous for having introduced the plague into the arsenal of the warring states in the form of a bacteriological weapon. The heroes of the film are Russian scientists and doctors who risked their lives to save people from the "black death". Despite the results achieved by Russian and world science and medicine, the experts interviewed in the film warn: it is premature to speak of a complete victory over the plague.
