Plot synopsis

Natalia is 28, she is Russian, highly educated, with a job in Moscow. But she has only one obsession: to come and live in Paris. Besides, her three best friends, all equally Russian, brilliant and educated, already live there. So Natalia wonders: what is she running away from? or: what attracts her to Paris? To understand, she asks her friends.
This is how The Story of a Non-Chance was born, a documentary about a group of young Russians who became Parisians. Through the testimonies of these young women who are intelligent, idealistic and determined to live their dreams, the film describes a Russian lost generation, a Skype and Gainsbourg generation, metropolitan and cosmopolitan. Natalia Arshavskaya's precise and tender gaze on her friends gives them the dimension of heroines of novels, and imperceptibly the quiet confidence of Anna, Olga and Lisa, recounting their lives in Paris, when the values ​​with which they grew up have disappeared in Moscow, becomes comforting and communicative: because we are all born in a world that no longer exists...
