The action takes place in Moscow today.
The main character, Ilya Rozov, 18 years old, comes to a branch of "Raibank" and gets a job as a cleaner. Ilyusha easily makes friends with people and even enjoys a certain popularity because he is always ready to help. But he suddenly loses his job for a minor mistake.
We quickly forget about Ilya. But it turns out that Ilya took out a small loan at "Raibank"... Then he manages to take out another, slightly larger one, and then another one... Is Ilya Rozov a lucky businessman? Does he want money? It seems that Ilya has no intention of giving anything back to anyone.
But why did he get hired at this bank? Is it because he is in love with Yaroslava, the wife of the director of "Raibank", Vasily Lvovich? Or is it because when he was a child Ilya lost his home and his relatives because of the embezzlement of this same Vasily Lvovich?
