Russian historical TV series. This series shows how the personality of Catherine the Great (1729-1796), the autocratic Empress, was shaped, from her arrival in Russia (in 1744 at the age of 15) as the fiancée of the future Tsar Peter III to her accession to the throne in 1762 at the age of 32. The script was written using archival documents, memoirs and diaries, including that of Catherine II. Almost twenty years of palace intrigues, plots, power struggles and personal dramas.
