Plot synopsis
It is 2012. On May 6, the rally on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow is brutally dispersed by OMON troops. This rally brought together people who disagree with the results of the presidential elections, in which V. V. Putin triumphed. The main character of the film, the activist of the Solidarity movement, is called Vsevolod Chernozub, known as Seva. He decides to stay there until the end. Neither he nor the other participants of the rally suspect how events will develop further. They do not know that May 6, 2012, means the end of the revolution of their generation and the beginning of a new era in which they will not find their place. But Seva is sure of the victory of their peaceful protest. He was one of the organizers of the first march to the TSIK (the Central Election Commission) on December 5, 2011 after the Duma parliamentary elections. From that day on, the wave of protests began in Moscow and Russia. Seva and his comrades are trying to figure out what to do now when so many people are chanting “Honest elections!” They want to organize a tent city on Pushkin Square the day after the presidential elections in order to push society towards political reforms… This film expresses a certain nostalgia for a time when people could take to the streets and chant “Russia without Putin!” It is an attempt to find an answer to the questions: Who is Putin, really? The man who holds power in his hands, or is it all of us, the people of Russia? When and how will the Putin era end? And maybe it will last forever?
