Biography
Born on October 10, 1954 in Moscow, he is both a film director and a theater director.
In 1976 he graduated from the directing department of the Moscow Art Theater School.
He began his career as a director in various theaters
Since 1985, he has been a decorator at the Taganka Theater, where he notably produces the shows S. Aleksievitch and Molière.
At the beginning of the 90s, he left the theater and embarked on the art of the easel: painting, graphics, installation. Since 2002 he has taught at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts.
From 2004 to 2018 he worked in the theater "School of Dramatic Art", headed its creative laboratory.
In 2021, he directed his first film: Serioja (Серёжа)
In February 2022, he is in Philadelphia, United States, for a staging of La cerisaie
He condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine and decides not to return to Russia.
