Professional water skier, member of the USSR national team, and then the Russian national team.
Later became a television and film director.
Graduated from VGIK (Vladimir Khotinenko's course). From 1995 to 1996, he worked at REUTERS as a writer and director of special reports. He worked on Channel One.
