Born in 1957 in Cheboksari, Alexandre Khvan obtained his director's diploma at VGIK, the National Institute of Cinematography (1980, dhaire by L.A. Koulidjanov and L.M. Lionozova). Since 1981 he has been working as an assistant to director Tatiana Lionozova (Carnival) and as a screenwriter. His first feature film Duba - Duba became the event of 1992 and won many awards at national festivals.
Né en 1957 à Tcheboksari, Alexandre Khvan obtient son diplôme de réalisateur au VGIK , l'Institut National de la Cinématographie (1980, dhaire de L.A. Koulidjanov et de L.M. Lionozova). Depuis 1981, il débute comme assistant du réalisateur Tatiana Lionozova (Carnaval) et comme scénariste. Son premier long métrage Duba - Duba est devenu l'événement de l'année 1992 et a obtenu de nombreux prix aux festivals nationaux.
