Plot synopsis
In 1962 at the Manege exhibition Khrushchev approached Ülo's painting and asked: "What is it?" "A lunar landscape," Ülo replied. "I'll send you to a camp," Khrushchev yelled. And Ülo replied: "I've already been there." The film is about one of the most brilliant painters of the second generation of the Russian avant-garde, Ülo Sooster (1924 - 1970), who had a huge influence on non-conformist painters of his time.
