Based on Chekhov's story of the same name. On a stormy autumn evening, Dr. Kirillov's little son dies. It seemed that with his death, life in the doctor's family had ended. But at that moment, the landowner Abogin arrives and begs Kirillov for help—his wife has fallen dangerously ill. The landowner appeals to every feeling a person can have and almost by force forces the poor doctor into a cart, brings him to his home and learns that his wife has run away with her lover.
