The film tells about the childhood and youth of the wife, friend and comrade-in-arms of the founder of the country of Soviets Nadezhda Konstantinovna Krupskaya. The main attention in the film is given to the participation of the young revolutionary in organizing the struggle of the workers of St. Petersburg for their rights, against the autocracy.
"In this film," said Mark Donskoy, "we intended to show how people grew up, whose deeds shook the world. And they left not only political and revolutionary wisdom as a legacy to their descendants. The light of their sublime love and hope has reached us."
