Based on the story of the same name by I. Shamyakin. 1941, the beginning of the war. Olga is a market woman, who sales second-hand goods. The small Belarusian town where Olga, a feisty woman who knew how to stand up for herself and her daughter, lived was occupied by the Germans. It was to her that underground resistance fighters turned, asking for a ransom for a man from a prisoner of war camp. The young woman was shocked by what she saw in the camp – and, unable to find the man she was looking for, Olga ransomed the young man, calling him her husband. As soon as the soldier recovered, he was eager to fight. And when he died, Olga joined the fight against the Nazis...
