The love story of Farhad and Shirin, sung by the great poets of the past, is recreated on the screen by director Azhdar Ibragimov in a colorful and bright, lyrical way. Famous Turkish actors Turkan Shoray, Faruk Peker, Iilmaz Duru were filmed alongside Soviet actors Irina Miroshnichenko, Anatoly Papanov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Vladimir Samoilov and Alla Sigalova, who plays the role of Shirin.
