The Great Patriotic War. Ivan Nikulin and Vassily Klevtsov, sailors of Chernomorsky fleet, hurry back to their crews from the hospital in summer 1942. In the train other sailors join them. The fascist landing force stops the train. The sailors defeat the landing force and form a partisan detachment. Fighting their way forward to the Black Sea, the detachment becomes a formidable force and supports the Red Army offensive.
