The action of the lyric musical comedy takes place during the VI World Yourth Festival which was held in Moscow in 1957. The film includes some documentary shots showing this great event. Tanya Fedosova whose charm, vivacity and nice voice attract customers, works in the record department of a music shop. Svirtinsky, the shop manager, is very pleased with it and does his best to keep Tanya at work. But she dreams to become a drama actress.
